Reverb on the bass drum for hiphop

Hi.....this is my first appearence on this forum.
i have been doing some hiphop and i like to make this:

Compress the BassDrum
then i pass the signal thru a reverb that only acts on the low frequencies.
then i maximize it ( compress even more )

Does anybody think im making some terrible aproach here?
it sounds good and a manage to make pretty damn fat bassdrum with this technique....so.......the only thing i whant to know is if im making some dynamic stupidity here.....

icon_confused.gif Thanks

Seems like over-processing to me, but then again, there really are no rules - only guidelines...

The ONLY rule is "if it sounds good, it IS good..."

Bluebear stated it perfectly... if it sounds good to your ears who the hell cares how you wired it?

You'll learn to trust yourself with time.
