This is going to be my christmas present and christmas is close so I need some help bad. I'm pretty good with virtual sound design, I have audition and have been editing sound effects I got off the internet and sound effects from things like movies and games. Well I want a mic and some sort of a recorder I can take around with me. the key thign here is, I only want to get one mic, but I need it to be multiple purpose until I can raise more capital. I want the mic to be so I can voice act And so I can go around recording things. The only thing I've heard about as far as recording is DAT tapes but im not sure if they're the prefered method. The other kicker is I, of course, need to be able to put the recordings on the computer. I'm not sure if I need a mic amp or what, I'm an idiot when it comes to Hardware so im not even entirely sure how it works. I have a random creative sound card which for christmas will be replaced with a sound card called X Mostique.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I only have a couple of days left to get it organized.
