Help me out, guys!!!

Hello all!

Myself and my mates are setting up a home studio. Nothing fancy yet (though maybe in five yearsor so...)

We're thinking roughly of the following mics:

Vocals: Shure KSM44
Guitar: Sennhesier MD421 II
Bass: Sennheiser MD421 II
Snare: Shure Beta 57a
Toms: Sennheiser e904
Floor Tom: Sennheiser MD421 II
Kick: AKG D112
Overheads: Shure Beta 57a

Anyone have any advice? It would be very much appreciated!!

i would drop the KSM44 and get a midline Nueman like the TLM 103. You will appreciate the results. Lose the Beta 57 for snare. too much hh will pick up in it. consider a AKG d418 if you wnat a condenser. its a clip and and very directioinal. I would also avoid the D112. Its a good live mic but in my studio annyway it lacks substance. Try the Sennheiser E602. I am not a fan of shure mics with the exception of the 57. for overheads, and i am serious check out the MXL 990 or the 1006 made by Marsahll. there are dirt cheap 1 " condensers but wait till you hear what it can do to room ambiance. for hat look at a AKG C430.
