Interfaces and other studio setup questions

hi there, I'm a one man show, singer/songwriter, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist. Here's what I have:

Computer (brand new)
Edirol Audio Interface
Cubase (recording, mixing, editing)
Condenser mic
Breedlove guitar, Yairi guitar, Acoustic bass
5.1 speakers and good headphones (didn't buy monitors)
Yamaha PSR 293 keyboard/midi (for drums and other noises)

Anyone have any problems getting good sound from edirol interface instead of using a mixer through a soundcard? (I have soundblaster but....ugh)
Should I be looking at other software/hardware to enhance recordings, mixing?( i have fruity poops 5.0 but it's not the best for me)
Anyone have any similiar setups or am I the only poor university student on here without gobs of loot?
Could someone maybe point out some errors in my purchases, investments or hint at some better gear?
I get good sound, but I really have nothing to compare it too. Anyone been down this path before????? would really love some input, advice...etc thanks

understanding

I'm not really sure what the question actually is you are asking.

My advise regarding the equipment would be use it and abuse it, when it doesn't do what you want (i.e. you understand you need other functionality) then start asking and researching for it.

The list is fine to get you going .. CubaseSX would be best, so check you have that.
