Samplerate

High guys,
currently if i Master a song that is 96k 24bit.
When is the optimum time to samplerate convert, should i truncate first, to 16 bit, then use a samplerate converter such as r8brain pro,

what do you guys think, also do you have any other options.

Cheers.

You keep all the files at the highest res for all processing, then the LAST step is downsampling to 44.1KHz and dithering to 16-bit for Redbook audio.

EDIT: what an odd question from someone who calls themselves a professional mastering engineer.... icon_rolleyes.gif
