Automation Or Cuts n Fades
What's your preferences on this one people? I know lots of engineers are into the cut n fade treament right on the files rather than automating things. _________________ Recording Studio Suntans

Well I am no expert at recording, nor a professional, but I personnaly prefer automation for the moment.
I find it easier, faster and I can go back and alternate it, if thats what I want to do.

Yes those are two good points, both speed and then rolling back some of the tweaks. _________________ Recording Studio Suntans

I dont know if its got anything to do with it, but I was recording this intro the other day with a ton of layered guitars, lots of effects and quite a lot of automation. Sometimes it will stop and say that the CPU is too slow... Is that automation that takes it all up?
I have the new Apple G5... it should be alright though shouldnt it?

usually, effects (plugins) are what eat a lot out of the cpu (check ur reverbs, as they are the most hungry, in my experience)...
