Making a Studio for Audio Engineers

I was wondering what the top 5 computer software applcations for music recording & finalizing. I have calkwalk 9. and sound forge. I want to finish studio track and prepare them for mass production. To do this I would also need to know the top 5 Digital Boards (16 Channel Max), studio monitor as well as studio subs. Thanks for all your help.

OK regarding loudspeakers, mixing desks etc, you want to ask that in the relevant threads.

For software you are right here.

When you say top 5, what exactly do you mean by this? Most popular?

For recording and editing, sequencing?

Just a thought you might look at:

Cubase
Nuendo
ProTools
Logic
Sonar

It's a bit of a vague generalised question though.
