how can i hear what i'm playing on my midi controller?

I bought a Midiman Oxygen 8 Midi controller for use at college in my tiny dorm room. I use it for input in Finale 2002 (which works fine) and for control in PowerTracks Pro Audio.

Does anyone know of a small program that will allow me to hear what I'm playing? (Through the computer of course) I can't hear anything before I commit it to the file. Anything to make my controller act more like a keyboard?

Sounds

sounds on your computer that can be triggered by MIDI input typically come from a sound card, with built in sounds, or a VST instrument.

What is your sound card?
