difference

Yes use anything to change it slighty, ANYTHING!

If there is a difference you will hear a layer.

processors

The list would be long, just use any process , for example:

reverb
delay
EQ
echo
chorus
flange

Just change it by using ANY processor, try it!

effect

What do you mean nudging?

If you overlap sounds of course there will be chorus and flanging results, if they are the same source file.

I think you need to spend some time with your equpiment and experiment.

Is there a way to isolate it so when overlapping it won't flanger or chorus
with the same file i want it to be discrete?

nope

Nope, not if you are mixing it.

If you don't want the artifact of the flange or chorus, solo just the track you want to listen to.

Solo the track during playback so it doesn't flanger or chorus?
