Whats up peoples? I'm also a newbie here. Just hopped on tonight, seems like a good forum. Anyway I have no knwledge whatsoever in the music industry other than I love music. Right now I have good paying job so i'm really not interested trying to make a career out of this. My taste for music is pretty widespread (in my opinion), but I primarily listen to hip hop and R&B. Lately I got this obsession with DJing, primarly with vinyl. As I've been doing my research on it i found that alot of DJ's are extremely into recording end of it. Whether it be on home studio equipment or software etc. So after the holidays are over I think I'll start my mission, pick up a couple of turntables and a mixer. I'm also thinking about taking some courses at Berklee on engineering and production. Then maybe when I get some basic knowledge of the equipment I might just pick up my own! I understand it can be an expensive hobby but what better hobby than music!!!
