I think-there should be some of answers wright!Expirience,Great Ear, and some other factors-they are important together,in the mix!

To be honest the 3 upmost important skills needed are as follows:
- a good ear for mixing and knowledge of how current mixing trends sound
- amazing problem solving skills
- good with psycology (knowing how to deal with big egos efficiently)

i voted good ears
reason is simply because the others could be trained easily..but when it comes to ears..its different..you could train it..but to a certain extend..if you realize when you compare your ears to people who are ''tone deaf'' ..it'll take them centuries to even reach the BASIC/standard level..where ears like you guys would catch things far so much better than most oridinary people...
