Mic For Brass?

hey, I'm currently recording a ska band (Of which i play trumpet in). I'm having real trouble recording the brass. I'm using My Rode NTA-1 At the min but im not too sure about it. anyone got any good recommendations for a good mic for brass?

Mucho Thanks

Ive had good luck with using an SM-57 straight down the bell of a trumpet. It actually sounds better than mic's 100x the price.

For saxophone I normally use a Sennheiser 421 pointed at side of the instrument because most of the sound comes out of the side holes, not the bell.

For a trombone, and all the lower instruments a larger diaphragm mic in the sound hole works nicely
