Dear mic experts,

I am currently using 2X 4006-TL & 2X Grace Design mic-pre M101 and record to digidesign 002. I recorded a jazz outfit (4pcs drum & cymbals) in stereo mode.
First recording, the mic is 3metres away from jazz set on a mic stand & T-bar. Recorded signal (wave) is normal but played back on studio speakers it seems to be overloaded (like a roll-off effect) on the hi-mids. Also did a recording @6metres high, wave signal becomes smaller but still can hear the "overload" effect @hi-mids. What can it be wrong? Is there an impedance issue between M101 & 4006-TL?
My connection is XLR (M101) to TRS input (digi 002).
