Recording an upright piano in a small room

Hello.

I would like to capture my lovely Welmar upright piano and although it sounds rich, warm and full in the flesh every recording I make turns it into a toy glockenspeil.

It is in a very small room so I was thinking, what about using a boundary mic taped to the lid? Would this method record more of the piano and less of the room? Or maybe it would be better to use those cute little DPA 4060s?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated because I clearly don't know what I'm doing.
