Which would be right for me?
Ok, I'm a year out of high school and I've had a year of basic community college, not really working for me, I lose interest in many classes such as Music theory and other general classes that I've basically been forced to take JUST as credit (2 classes both 1 day a week for more than 5 hours) Never got interested and I'm starting to get bad grades, not due to skill but work ethic in uninteresting fields. These classes have been forced on me by my mother for the sake of saving a few bucks on car insurance, but overall it's lowering my overall GPA through the overtaxing amount of work given by them.
My goal was to major in Audio engineering in almost any field of work. However now I have the dilemma of having a bad GPA and possibly killing my chances of getting into CSUN.
I have done some research and found a local technical school that is all about audio engineering and instruction through pro tools. I understand that through a university I would gain better and faster positions out of school due to having a higher level of degree. But I want to know is if it's possible to still make a living off of going to a Technical school, I don't plan on having a lot of money, I'm more or less a very low maintenance person. It takes very little money to keep me going.
I would appreciate any info on types of positions people have gotten through a trade school, length of internship, etc.
