Large Diaphrahm Condenser Mic
I am looking for a large diaphragm condenser mic. I am using it with a Behringer Xenyx 1204FX mxer into my Mac. I will be using it for spoken word-Podcasting. I am new to audio so excuse my terminolgy: I would like a mic that is quiet and on the warm side for the voice, more along the lines of 1970s FM radio or Classical Radio stations as opposed to as opposed to bright. Although I may want to record acoustic guitar also. My budget is 150-225 .
I know mics have thier own characterictics, how does the eq's on the mixers figure in to this. I have looked at MXL, Audio Technica,Rode,AKG etc. Since there does not seem to be a way to hear the mics - it almost seems like you have to take a chance

M Audio Luna or Solaris are decent mikes in that price range. You do need Phantom power to run them, you probably know that but I am not sure if your Behringer has phantom power.
