Soooo, here's the deal.

I have a Korg Electribe ESX-1, an M-audio Axiom 61 key midi controller, and I just purchased a Virus A tabletop synth module.

The past few days i've been using the Axiom plugged directly into the Virus and that works great.

Today I started to do some experimenting to see exactly how I could sequence the virus with my electribe. I got it working good, however I ran into a problem but I'll explain the goal first...

"The Goal" is to have the Axiom be able to control the Virus for playing notes, and then have the Electribe for sequencing those notes when needed. Then be able to press play on the Electribe and have it tell the Virus what notes to play.


!!!(This is where things get confusing for me) I can plug the Axiom out to the Electribe midi in and the Electribe Midi Thru to the Virus Midi in However here in lies the problem. I set it up like this it sends the notes from the axiom to the virus thru the electribe (makes sense), I'll see the keys light up on the electribe which is great because I can record the midi steps as I play however, if i wanted to play those steps back I'd have to plug the electribe's midi out to the virus' midi in, which is currently plugged into the electribes midi thru to recieve the midi signal from the axiom... So pretty much if I want the Virus to play back what I just played, I have to switch the Electribes midi Thru to the electribes midi out. It's a pain.



I dont know if that makes any sense, I've spent the past 5 hours trying to figure it out. I dont even know if it's possible. I've looked in manuals for both virus and electribe and says nothing about the set up i'm trying to achieve.
