How to record bass
Hi
I have an electric bass guitar. I have a creative X-FI XTREME MUSIC which has a MIDI input, could I get an input cable to plug into my MIDI input on the sound card and that would have a connection for the standard bass guitar lead so I could record straight onto a program like cubase sx 4 with my bass.

no. no, i dont think you can. the output coming from your bass just isn't binary, like MIDI reads. maybe you can do it with an interface or something, but i doubt it.

You can't plug your bass into a midi input. But you can use the analog input on your sound card. A DI(direct inject) box is recommended for impedance matching, and you'll just need an adapter plug to go from the 1/4 inch jack to a 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) jack.
