Experience of recording folk/blues acts

Hi everyone.Im new to this forum and am wondering who has any experience of recording folk/blues type music. I have a studio session coming up with a band who play folk/blues/Dylan/Guthrie style songs and am trying to formulate some rough ideas as to how I am going to approach the session. Any advice on mic'ing techniques that suit those genre's?I am thinking about going for a minimalist appoach and dont want it to sound too 'over produced'.I have obviously been listening to artists from that era (1930/40s) to get an idea of the recording style needed but wondered what others think?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
