If you can afford it go MAC. I build my own PC's which costs me a lot less but I really wish I could afford a MAC because they are engineered for multimedia. If you can afford it, I would get a MAC. In terms of specifications, the PC that we are currently running has these specs:
PC:
AMD X2 4200+
4 gig DDR2 Dual Channel Ram
4 200 gig HD's
2 DVD burners
19" Widescreen Acer LCD Flat Panel
PCI Delta 1010 card (came with rackmount, see below)

But if you can afford it you should probably go with a 20 or 24" iMac or if you really have the money go for the MacPro (any MacPro would have the computing power to run any software). Those are my suggestions, take them for what they're worth (remember that I am going off of the knowledge that I have attained from hours of research, which is a lot less than the years of experience the other engineers in this forum have icon_wink.gif
Anyway, happy tracking!

Thank you Bob for your advice. We just starting a research which system is the best for work with MOTU 896HD.Up to now we recording with 2 digital multitrack recorder FOSTEX D-160 and ours PC[AMD Athlon/tm/XP 2000+,1.67Ghz,512RAM,RME Hammerfall DSP] is only for editing and recording a mix through TC Finalizer 96K from analogue TASCAM M-3700 console. Now we want to make a record and mix only in the computer.Ours studio have a big room and we recording at real time 16 tracks. My question is which one Mac or PC system will work better with MOTU 896HD?

It appears according to MOTU's website that the 896 comes with AudioDesk recording software for MAC, so if you want to use that software to record, edit and mix then you would have to get a MAC, but if you use something like Cubase or ProTools, I believe either one comes available for MAC or PC. So in terms of the MOTU itself, it appears that if the hardware was engineered to work with AudioDesk and it only comes on MAC I would assume that the MOTU is best suited for a MAC. Any of the more experienced engineers have any insight?
