Home Studio Setup
Hey guys, I'm new here and was just looking to for opinions on our home studio setup. Basically, my keyboard player and I have been interested in starting our own studio so we took the step and researched all the equipment and made our purchases. But I was just looking for opinions and suggestions as we get started with our studio on general studio etiquette, what we should watch out for (software/hardware malfunciton/what we can look to improve first in the way of equipment (obviously down the road after we pay off our initial investment). But here is our setup: PC(Custom build): AMD Dual Core 4200+, 4 gig DDR2 Ram Audio Interface: Delta 1010 Rackmount system Software: ProTools M-Powered Monitors: M-Audio Studiophile DX4 Microphones: Vox -> Blue Baby Bottle Amplifier -> Shure SM-57 Drum Mics -> Cad Pro 7
We are running a snake from our Nady board for all the mics and Monster studio gold XLR's to the mics from the snake. The board is connected via insert to output adapters to the Delta. Thanks in advance for opinions/advice. _________________ Bob Seifert, SEIT

Well it's a start, thought about headpone mixes yet? _________________ Recording Studio Suntans

We have a 4 channel headphone amp with independent volume levels, but we don't have any way of effecting the mixes levels independently (like bass, mids and high levels). But yeah, if we have 4 people recording at the same time we have a way to do that. And we always run what they are playing so that they can hear that as well. _________________ Bob Seifert, SEIT
