centrino duo laptop
I'm about to upgrade my laptop and have heard that Intel Centrino Duo is not recommended for recording!
Is this true?

i haven't heard anything about this, and i dont see why it would be a bad thing. aslong as the computer is fast enough and has a decent sound card, it should be fine.

yeah thanks - i cant see how it would be a problem as centrino duo is aimed at prolonging battery life in laptops (amongst other things) but i didnt want to commit that kind of money!
hopefully a few other people will reply and confirm!

don't know if I'm late - sometimes 'off the shelf' laptops and pcs don't take to audio and video editing software as one would hope - I believe laptops can be particularly tempermental-
I use a laptop that I bought from a specialist supplier who specially configure the computer for optimal performance with the audio software - This costs more than simply going to the store but it can save a lot of heartache and frustration in the longrun
