Cubase vs other host programmes

Hey dudes! I'm currently using cubase but i dislike windows so i want to consider trying linux to refresh the performance of my comp. ok here is the question. is it possible that cubase and the plug ins i'm currently using doesn't work under linux and would you consider advicing me another host application. By the way the plug ins i'm mainly depending on are tc equalisers, limiter and compressor.

thank you for your interest.

Regards,
Emre.

Smooth

I'd stick with windows as you'll find so much more software available for it, I think the issue is to get your windows software running smoothly.

thank you guys, and i'll tell you what!

a friend of mine wanted me to play bass for one of his songs and we plugged in my bass to an amp and then recorded it to his computer using
adobe bla bla and i was like "adobe? whats goin on here?" and then we recorded the bass part and then i saw him copying the recorded part (it was appearing on the left channel (?!?) ) and pasted it to the right channel and to him it meant having a stereo channel! i asked whats all this crap and asked me back "why input from the amp. records mono?" and i answer "because its a mono channel, look at the jack" and whats more funny is the recorded part played through just the left channel and when i told him to place it in the center of the mix by using the pan pot and asked him to open the mixer window and he tells me "no mixer window" then pans the bass part to hard right and nothin comes out of the monitors.

then i told him to get himself "cubase"..

i sure believe that there was a problem with the way he recorded my instrument. no way such a software has such a mistake...

yea i think i'm happy with my host software and my loving plug ins hahaha...

i just don't want my ram and cpu power sucked by windows and pals can you believe this i'm working with a celeron 300 machine with 128 mb's of ram. im such a poor composer...

Regards to you all!
