issues mixing down to an audio file and burning to cd
Thought someone could save me some greaf...still in the learning curve after switching from audio to digital recording. Have my tracks mixed and want to see what it sounds like in a mp3 format. I'm in Cubase SX 2.20
basically have 5 mono recorded tracks that are pretty much done..mixed etc...however on exporting audio mixdown chose mpeg layer 3 mp3, attributes are set at a questionable 16 kbit sec 11.025khz mono...(again not sure about that.Quality is highest...output is bus1 stereo..(I know that doesn't make sense but the only other option is to choose individual tracks...channels set to mono not stereo as again as much as I would like this all to be stereo I can only record mono tracks....sample rate is set at 44.100. The manual isn't helping me much...I can create a mp3 and wav
but the quality is awful and the file size for a 4 minute song is under a meg?....Tryed burning it to a cd and I get a not a good file message.
So if someone can set me straight I'd be gratefull!

Well that sure confused me...
Couple things:

after switching from audio to digital recording
What you should say here is switching from "analogue" to "digital", digital is still audio, just digital audio as opposed to analogue audio.

You mean 5 songs? OR 5 tracks like instrument 1 to 5? If it is the latter it is typical to have them as mono tracks and then use the pan to space them in the stereo image.
Let's get that bit sorted first. _________________ Recording Studio Suntans

Hi by tracks I mean instruments. I've actually figured out what I was doing wrong. Sampling rate was set lowest during mixdown. I did pan adjustments
to offset the mono tracks. It's harder than it seems in terms of knowing do's and dont's of panning and what sound where and how loud. I listen to professionally done songs and can imagine the talent and effort that goes into the end result...any tips would always be appreciated from others who have been there and done that......thanks
