Need some Effect(s) Tips.. Please.

I sing R&B .. and have some Artist who sing as well... And i have a home studio ... And when i Listen to Professional songs or anything close to that.. I hear similar effects on similar parts.. Like the for background adlibs on a verse ... or a PRE-HOOK .. its like the same effect ... And it sounds FULL and BRIGHT ... Clear also.. I was wondering what i can do to make it sound more FULL, Clear, and Bright.... I add reverb to the verses on most of the R&B tracks we do... But it doesnt sound "Full" it just sounds like its THERE.. I want my audios to sound like im IN it.... not like infront of it.. if you know what i mean.. If you could help me that would be the best thing.. Thanks alot.. please reply soon.

First things first - most important is the singer in front of the mic.... then comes the environment they're singing in -- if they sing in a room that sounds like a box, it'll sound very closed and small on the recording.

Next comes the signal chain - without at least a decent mic and good preamp, you're not going to capture any of the depth of the source. And naturally, you want to be recording (if digital) using good converters -- cheap/budget converters tend to sound harsh and grainy.

At mic time, you can use very short delays (< 30mS) tucked just barely under the vocal, to thicken the sound and more dimension.

The sound you want doesn't come from a box, it comes from getting all your ducks lined up in a row from tracking through to mixing!

^ Go there an listen to my only audio on there... It's not the sound that i want..

Equipment:
E-MU 0404
Presonus TubePre
Blue Babybottle Mic
M-Audio BX5 Studio Monitors

Thats what i USE right now... It doesnt sound like i'm in a box cause i have a wide/long closet and it has two doors that slide... so its not closed in .. And i have Foam on the walls .. Not everywhere because those things are expensive.. But i'll try the Delay (30ms)... Which Program would be better to use by the way? "Cubase" or "Adobe Audition 1.5"??? ...
